SUMMARY:Early Career Lighting Talks – Exascale-Enabled Physical Modeling f
 or Next-Generation Microelectronics
DESCRIPTION:Workshop\n\nEarly Career Lighting Talks – Exascale-Enabled Phy
sical Modeling for Next-Generation Microelectronics\n\nYao\n\nA new exasca
le-ready software framework is proposed, for physical modeling of EM signa
ls with the flexibility for additional physics coupling, targeted at curre
nt and next-generation microelectronic devices. This new platform will of
fer (i) an algorithmically agile, open-source software framework amenable
to customization of existing algorithms and incorporation of new physics a
nd (ii) effective scalability on leadership class GPU/multicore superco
mputing architectures that will provide orders-of-magnitude speedup over
existing capabilities. Our efforts will leverage the extensive software an
d algorithmic expertise developed in collaboration with the Exascale Compu
ting Project (ECP) Co-Design Center, AMReX, and related AMReX-based applic
 ations. A preliminary demonstration of a Maxwell-micromagnetics module i
s presented, showing agreements of our simulation to both theories and exp
eriments. The work we are proposing will allow us to offer an enhanced si
mulation capability for existing industrial, academic, and laboratory cons
umers, as well as reach into new energy-efficient application spaces with
the incorporation of new physics, enabling improved design of future devic
es.\n\nTag: Online Only, Career Development, Diversity Equity Inclusion (D
