SUMMARY:Addressing Cybersecurity Standards/Policies in HPC Environments
DESCRIPTION:Birds of a Feather\n\nAddressing Cybersecurity Standards/Polic
ies in HPC Environments\n\nHinton, Warren, Lee, Allen, Mercer\n\nApplying
security standards, configurations and policies originally designed for se
rvers or workstations to something as functionally different as a supercom
puting cluster can be a frustrating task. With rigorous interpretation, su
ch efforts often present obstacles to approving a “functional” system, typ
ically paint an inaccurate picture of the actual security posture of a giv
en cluster, and always seem to involve large-scale exceptions to address m
isapplication. This meeting will consist of short presentations from thre
e Department of Energy HPC centers; each one representing a unique perspec
tive on methods used to meet a set of cybersecurity requirements in order
to deliver mission critical systems.\n\nTag: Online Only, Security\n\nRegi
stration Category: Tech Program Reg Pass, Exhibit Hall Only
