SUMMARY:FTXS 2021: Invited Speaker - Devesh Tiwari (Making Erroneous Execu
 tions on Quantum Computers Meaningful)
DESCRIPTION:Workshop\n\nFTXS 2021: Invited Speaker - Devesh Tiwari (Making
Erroneous Executions on Quantum Computers Meaningful)\n\nTiwari\n\nQuantu
m computing has moved from theoretical promise to practical realization --
at a very rapid pace in the last decade. But, prohibitively high error ra
tes on existing Near-term Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) computers limi
t their usability even for quantum-advantage-proven algorithms (that is, a
lgorithms that are infeasible or orders of magnitude slower on classical c
omputers). As a result, the executions of these algorithms on existing qua
ntum computers are highly erroneous and produce program output that can be
far from the correct output. In this talk, first, I will provide an overv
iew of the reliability challenges in quantum computing systems. Then, I'll
discuss novel approaches toward estimating the correct program output on
erroneous quantum devices.\n\nTag: Online Only, Extreme Scale Computing, R
eliability and Resiliency\n\nRegistration Category: Workshop Reg Pass
