SUMMARY:HUST-21: 8th International Workshop on HPC User Support Tools
DESCRIPTION:Workshop\n\nHUST-21: 8th International Workshop on HPC User S
upport Tools\n\nBording, Gonsiorowski, Tomko\n\nSupercomputing centers exi
st to drive scientific discovery by supporting researchers in computationa
l science fields. To improve the productivity of the user and the usabilit
y of systems in an environment as complex in a typical HPC center they emp
loy specialized support teams and individuals. The broad support effort ra
nges from basic system administration to managing 100's of Petabytes with
complex hierarchical data-storage systems, to supporting high performance
networks, or consulting on advanced math libraries, code optimization, and
managing complex HPC software stacks. Often, support teams struggle to a
dequately support scientists as HPC environments are extremely complex and
combined with additional layers of complexity of hierarchical data storag
e, multiple networks, hybrid hardware configuration, and maintaining compl
icated research software stacks to support 100's or even 1000's of HPC use
rs can be extremely demanding.\n\nTag: Online Only, Productivity Tools, St
ate of the Practice\n\nRegistration Category: Workshop Reg Pass
